Northern Quarter street signage

Cypher is the name of the special typeface designed by Tim Rushton for the ceramic street signs commissioned for the Northern Quarter cultural area of Manchester.

The signs, white on blue for the streets running East/West and blue on white for the streets running North/South, give the area its own identity.

They were produced by Tim in collaboration with Majolica Works and were funded by Manchester City Council and the National Lottery.
